International Baccalaureate

IBNISC is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the IB Diploma (DP). We began implementing the Primary Years Programme in August 2009, and the PYP authorization visit was conducted in September 2011. We are a Middle Years Programme candidate school, and target the 2012-2013 school year to host the MYP authorization visit.

NISC supports a best practice, developmental approach to learning. The school is comprised of three divisions which include the Primary Years Programme (referred to as the Primary School), the Middle Years Programme, and the Diploma Programme. The Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme (Grades 7-12) are referred to as the Upper School.

Primary Years Programme at NISC

The Primary Curriculum (from 3 years old to Grade Six) is structured around the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is an international, transdisciplinary programme that fosters the development of the whole child. The PYP encourages a collaborative approach to teaching and learning, allowing educators to design learning experiences, lessons and programmes to meet children's individual academic, social, physical, emotional and cultural needs. These learning experiences transcend the classroom and engage students within communities in a local, national and global context. The PYP emphasizes a student-centered approach to learning, thus making it responsive to the needs of all students regardless of ability, nationality or educational background.

The Middle Years Programme at NISC

NISC is a candidate Middle Years Programme (MYP) school providing a challenging, internationally focused, broad and balanced educational experience for students aged 12 to 16.
